The Sindh government spokesperson, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, on Wednesday flayed the federal government for the statements criticising the Sindh government, saying there was no restriction or closure of goods transport in the province.
Asking Firdous Ashiq Awan – special Assistant to the prime minister – to refrain from levelling baseless allegations, he said the lack of knowledge on the part of the federal government’s spokesperson was an unfortunate thing.
Murtaza said the supply of basic edibles and goods from the port was continuing uninterrupted.
He also discussed Prime Minister Imran Khan, saying his statement about the port closure was laughable. The Gilgit-Baltistan chief minister himself refuted the PTI’s claim that there was a shortage of food items in the region, said the provincial spokesperson.
By issuing statements about the closure of goods transport, Murtaza said, the hoarders were being encouraged, as he called for refraining from issuing hate-based statements.
