The House will be bifurcated for the election of Leader of the House and the voting will be held through a show of hands on Sunday. The Leader of the House will have to get 186 votes.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has nominated Pervez Elahi for the slot of CM after Usman Buzdar tendered his resignation from the post of Punjab chief minster a few days ago.

On March 28, State Minister for Information Farrukh Habib announced Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar tendered his resignation to Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The state minister made the announcement on Twitter, saying that  Usman Bazdar tenders his resignation and PM nominated Chaudhry Pervez Elahi for the slot.

The announcement followed an opposition lawmaker address to the media, saying that 120 MPAs signed the no-confidence motion submitted to the provincial assembly against Punjab CM Usman Buzdar.
