PIA writes to CAA to clarify status of 24 pilots’ licences

August 1, 2020 12:26 AM

It has yet to be ascertained if addition of names of 24 pilots to the list of pilots having suspicious credentials is just a mistake or more than that.

The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has written a letter to the Civil Aviation Agency (CAA) of Pakistan to clarify the status of the licences of these 24 pilots. Through the letter, the PIA has directed the CAA to check the licencing records of these pilots and report back without any delay. The response from the CAA will help the PIA improve its flight operations, says the letter.

According to sources, names of 24 pilots were added to the list of pilots with suspicious credentials, apparently without any valid reason.

The sources said the two of these pilots have even written to the PIA to remove their names from the list of pilots with suspicious credentials.
