The single-day coronavirus infections in Pakistan have soared to 5,026 as the country reported another 62 deaths during the last 24 hours (Saturday), showed the figures released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Sunday morning.
As per the latest NCOC figures, with the addition of 62 new deaths the toll has now surged to 23,422 whereas the total number of cases has now reached 1,034,837 after adding 5,026 new ones.
During the past 24 hours (Saturday), as many as 1,495 patients have recovered from the virus whereas the total recoveries stood at 941,659. As of Sunday, the total count of active cases was recorded at 69,756 whereas the positivity ratio was recorded at 8.82 percent.
As many as 382,865 coronavirus cases have so far been confirmed in Sindh, 356,920 in Punjab, 144,264 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 87,699 in Islamabad, 30,432 in Balochistan, 24,501 in Azad Kashmir and 8,156 in Gilgit Baltistan.
Moreover, 11,059 individuals have so far lost their lives to the pandemic in Punjab, 6,001 in Sindh, 4,462 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 803 in Islamabad, 625 in Azad Kashmir, 328 in Balochistan and 144 in Gilgit Baltistan.
