Four tribal elders died as they came under an attack by unidentified gunmen in North Waziristan district, police said on Monday.

The ambush took place in Mir Ali Bazaar of Waziristan area, the lawmen said, adding the deceased were identified as Malik Sahib Khan, Malik Raza Khan, Malik Umar Khan and Malik Noor Khan. 

The attackers managed to escape after committing the crime. The bodies were shifted to THQ Hospital Mir Ali for postmortem. The local police registered a case and launched a hunt for the runaway attackers.
