Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) founder Altaf Hussain has been hospitalised in Barnet Hospital, London after contracting a coronavirus, reported UK44 TV channel.

Altaf has been in the hospital for the last 10 days and his condition is reported to be critical.

The TV channel correspondent reported MQM founder’s program ‘Meri Awaz Suno’ was also not telecast live on social media, which was earlier announced by the MQM leader Mustafa Aziziabadi.

Senior journalist Nasim Zehra also tweeted, “Altaf Hussain suffering from Covid-19, admitted in a London hospital for the last 10 day. In a very serious condition.”

It is pertinent to note that MQM’s official twitter account in a tweet posted on January 23 said, “Founder leader Altaf Hussain got ill. After check-up, the doctor advised him to rest and suspend his political activities. MQM’s Central Coordination Committee has appealed to the workers and people to pray for the early recovery and good health of Altaf Hussain.”
