Taking notice of the disappearances of two members of the cabin crew in Canada just recently, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Monday issued a new set of guidelines for them, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Aamir Bashir, PIA General Manager (GM) Flight Services, said that according to the new rules, air hosts’ passports would remain in the possession of the concerned station manager.

He further said that the cabin crew would have to submit their passports after the immigration and custom’s clearance processes were over, adding that these passports would then be returned to them at the Check-in at the time of flight’s departure.

Besides that, scrutiny has been made necessary under the new rules to ensure that air hosts returned to the hotels. “In the event of any air host found missing, the hotel staff will report to the PIA management,” Bashir explained.

According to the airline’s management, the movement of the cabin crew has also been curtailed in view of the coronavirus.

Similarly, no air host will be allowed to go outside the hotel late at night.

Airhostess Zahida Baloch and Flight Steward Ramzan Gull had gone missing in Canada on January 29.
