Arrives in Bahawalpur to address workers’ convention

Maryam Nawaz, senior vice president and chief organiser of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), arrived in Bahawalpur on Wednesday on the first leg of her countrywide campaign to reorganize the party, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

A large number of the PML-N workers reached the hall where the workers’ convention of the PML-N was scheduled to be organised.

The enthusiasm among the PML-N workers for the convention was worth seeing.

It is to be noted here that Maryam Nawaz has started her country-wide visits from Bahawalpur division for the organisation of the party.

PML-N Punjab President Rana Sanaullah Khan accompanied her in Bahawalpur.

Maryam will address a convention in Bahawalpur. New office-bearers will be inducted into the organisational structure of the party.

An organisational meeting of the party’s local office-bearers will also be held.

Under the presidentship of Maryam Nawaz, the current organisational structure of the party will also be reviewed.

The organisational issues will be considered in the meeting of the local office-bearers and workers of the party.

British Acting High Commissioner meets Maryam

The Acting British High Commissioner Zoe Ware met Pakistan Muslim League (N) Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz and discussed the matters of mutual interest in the meeting, while Zoe Ware expressed her regret over the terrorist attack in Peshawar Police Lines Mosque and the loss of precious human lives. 

Speaking during the meeting, The High Commissioner said that they are in solidarity with the people of Pakistan and that the Peshawar incident is a terrible tragedy which grieved every heart. 

Meanwhile, Maryam Nawaz said that terrorism is a common threat, it will only be eliminated through joint efforts, noting that Pakistan has experienced significant economic and human losses as a result of terrorism. 

She reiterated that the world must help Pakistan and its people in this difficult situation. 

According to Maryam Nawaz, the coalition government provided full assistance to 3.3 million people affected by the devastating floods. 

Despite the most difficult economic conditions, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif provided more than 100 billion rupees financial aid to the flood victims, she continued. 

Additionally, Maryam Nawaz thanked the UK for helping the flood victims and emphasised the need to further advance bilateral ties between Pakistan and the UK in a number of areas.

She said that the Pakistani community living in the UK is playing an important role in strengthening the ties between the two countries. 

Likewise, the Acting High Commissioner also congratulated Maryam Nawaz on her appointment as Senior Vice President of the party and offered her best wishes.

Maryam Nawaz thanked Acting High Commissioner for her visit and good wishes.
