In a major decision, Federal Interior Minister Gohar Ijaz has announced a complete ban on the licenses of the prohibited bore, a type of firearm that is restricted for civilian use, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Thursday.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a notification stating that the licenses of prohibited bores have been suspended in view of the prevailing circumstances and public interest.

The notification did not specify how long the ban will remain imposed.
