In a major setback for the PTI, its Information Secretary Karachi Falak Almas announced her decision to join the Istehkam Pakistan Party (IPP) on Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

She was welcomed by IPP Sindh President Mehmood Maulvi, who put a muffler on her as a symbol of her inclusion in the party.

Mehmood Maulvi congratulated Falak Almas on joining the IPP and said that he was a valuable addition to the party.

He criticized the PTI for using the youth for its "dark purposes" and said that the IPP was the only party that cared for the future of the country.

He said that the youth were the main capital of the country and the IPP would empower them to play their role in nation-building.

Falak Almas thanked Mehmood Maulvi for his warm welcome and said that she was impressed by the vision and policies of the IPP.

She said that he had joined the IPP to serve the people of Karachi, who had been neglected by the PTI government. She said that politics was the name of public service and she would work hard to promote the concept of service among the masses.
