Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Saturday inaugurated solarization of agricultural tubewells project in the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Maryam Nawaz also conducted balloting for agriculture tubewells for solarization project.
Mohammad Nawaz from Attock declared first winner in agriculture tubewells balloting.
On the occasion Maryam Nawaz also checked the list of winners of farmers belonged to Narowal district of Punjab.
The Chief Minister was informed that during the first phase around 8,000 tube-wells converted on solar system.
A farmer will be able to save up to Rs10,000 per day and Rs3.25,000 monthly due to solarization of agriculture tube-wells while Punjab government will provide subsidy amounting to Rs5,00,000 for a solar system with a capacity of 10 KW, Rs7,50,000 will be provided for 20 KW system and Rs10,00,000 for 15 KW.
The successful farmers will install solar system through vendor of their relevant district.
Over 5,30,000 farmers applied for Chief Minister Agriculture Tube-wells Solarization project from which 3,85,000 farmers declared successful.
Around 87 percent tube-wells running on diesel and13 from electricity will be converted on solar system.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed all relevant officials that in first phase solarization of agriculture tube-wells must be completed by June 2025.
She said that agriculture tube-wells solarization project will bring revolution in the lies of the farmers and also will decrease production expenditure which will put a positive impact on well-being of farmers.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that Kissan Card and agriculture internship will bring prosperity and facilitation in the lives of the farmers.
