The National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) officials on Saturday confirmed presence of poliovirus in samples collected from 26 different districts of Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The districts in which poliovirus was confirmed in samples collected from Badin, Ghotki, Hyderabad, Jacobabad, Qambar, Karachi East, Korangi, Malir, Karachi South, Kemari, Mirpurkhas, while in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa poliovirus samples was confirmed in samples collected from Sajawal, Bajaur, Dera Ismail Khan, Lakki Marwat, Peshawar, Chaman and Loralai.
The officials further revealed that poliovirus was also detected in environment samples collected from Quetta, Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi.
National Command and Operations Center officials said that the first anti-polio campaign will be kicked-off from February 3, 2025.
