Gunshots were fired at the house of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Irfan Qureshi situated in Islamabad’s Sector I-9/4 in the I-9 police precincts, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
The police registered a case of the incident on the complaint of the PML-N leader.
The First Information Report (FIR) stated that Irfan Qureshi was out for election campaign when the gunshots were fired at his house.
“A few days ago, a person named Zafar Iqbal threatened me with dire consequences on a phone call,” the FIR read.
The claims of foolproof security arrangements on the New Year’s night were left in tatters, for the house of the PML-N leader was near the police station.
The incident also sent a wave of shock and fear among the residents of the area. The police were, however, investigating the incident.
