Influential people set fire to the cattle of a poor farmer over personal grudges in the limits of police station Bhagtanwala in Sargodha, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, Sargodha Police have arrested the main accused of setting cattle on fire, Mohammad Sarwar.
IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar took notice of the incident and ordered DPO Sargodha to take strict action against the other accused.
The accused's co-accused wife Naseem Bibi and son Ali have been arrested before bail, the spokesperson said.
IG Punjab said that no matter how influential the accused are, they will not be able to escape punishment.
The accused had set fire to six cattle of opponents due to personal enmity, the spokesperson of the Punjab Police said.
