Dr Asad Majeed Khan, Ambassador of Pakistan to the United States of America has presented a copy of his Credentials to The Hon. Darren A. Henfield, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, as non-resident High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in a virtual ceremony held Monday.
High Commissioner Asad Majeed Khan, in his remarks, conveyed the greetings and good wishes of the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan to the leadership of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas.
He expressed the desire of the Government of Pakistan to strengthen the bilateral ties between Pakistan and the Bahamas in diverse areas of mutual interest.
The High Commissioner emphasised that the two countries should work closely to explore bilateral economic opportunities. He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to work with the Bahamas at various multilateral fora including the United Nations and the Commonwealth of Nations on issues of common interest such as climate change and sustainable development.
Minister H.E. Darren A. Henfield felicitated High Commissioner Khan on his appointment as the non-resident High Commissioner of Pakistan to The Commonwealth of Bahamas.
He said the Government of Bahamas looked forward to strengthening its ties with Pakistan and assured full cooperation of his Government in this regard.
High Commissioner Khan also extended an invitation to the Foreign Minister to visit Pakistan at his earliest convenience, which the Foreign Minister happily accepted.
