Foreign-based professors have halted the evaluation of PhD thesis of Pakistani students after a financial crisis of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) intensified, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
According to a report, the foreign professors halted the process of assessment of the thesis due to non-payment of their dues for the last several months.
The report said the UET was facing a serious financial crisis that was further aggravated during the severe third wave of COVID-19 and lockdown in the country.
Due to the financial crisis, the university had not paid the dues of the foreign professors to check the students’ thesis of different classes so there was a fear of wasting the year of Pakistani students.
The report further claimed that the foreign professors had refused to evaluate the PhD thesis of the UET students without payment of their pending fees.
