Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Wednesday said that the claims about Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s female workers being mistreated in prison were ‘false propaganda’, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.

Talking to media persons, he said PTI should share the detail of PTI 25 workers to the government who were killed during the May 9 incidents if the party has the proof.

Mohsin Naqvi highlighted that all women are considered part of their own community and that they have been taught to respect them. He emphasized the utmost importance of respecting and honoring women, urging caution before leveling such accusations. Mohsen Naqvi reiterated that PTI women are not mistreated and sexually harassed in jails.

He emphasized his commitment to ensuring the safety of mothers and sisters as long as he is present in Punjab.  He said that currently there are only 11 women in jail.

He reassured that surveillance cameras are installed, and monitoring teams are in place to ensure security.

Referring to the incident on May 09, he said that people involved in the mayhem would not be spared at any cost.

Meanwhile, Punjab Information Minister Amir Mir on Wednesday released the statistics of women involved in the May 9 attacks.  He said out of 300 women wanted by the police, a total of 46 women were arrested. He said that 29 have been released on bail so far in the total arrested PTI women.

“The number of women in the jails for the identity parade is only 17. The procedure of identification parade of the arrested accused is also mentioned in the law,” Amir Mir.

The caretaker minister clarified that under the law, it is not possible to meet these women before the identity parade. “The laws apply equally to all arrested accused,” he added.

Amir Mir asserted that no one will be abused and no one will get any concessions.

According to the law, the accused is not allowed to see the witness or anyone else before identification. Failure to comply with legal requirements such as concealment of facts may result in failure of prosecution, he maintained.

Amir Mir said that a so-called political party is exaggerating the number of women for point scoring.
