Pemra has issued instructions to TV channels in the wake of the May 9 incidents.
Public property and state assets were destroyed on May 9, it stated, adding that human lives were put at risk, anti-state sentiments were raised to weaken federalism and anti-state activities were carried out by the agitated workers of a political party,
It continued: “The aim of a political party was to damage the state and its organs. This is a terrible trend, which should be condemned.
“There should not be a media boycott of those promoting such activities.
“Pemra instructs all channels to be cautious in this context.
"Hatred should not be promoted. Do not give airtime to a person who incites anti-state sentiments.
“National unity should be promoted and hatemongers should be blacked out.”
