MQM-P decides to support PTI candidate in Senate elections

Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) decided to vote its ally ruling party (PTI) in the upcoming Senate elections. 

In the second meeting of the MQM-P on Sunday night, it was decided that they would support the PTI candidate Abdul Hafeez Sheikh in the Senate election which is scheduled to be held on March 3. Earlier, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari invited the MQM-P to join the Pakistan Democratic Movement. On which, the MQM-P held another meeting and rejected the PPP chairman’s offer. 

The MQM-P also decided to hold regular contacts with the PPP on provincial level for the future. 

Earlier, the situation took a dramatic turn when MQM-P declined to attend a luncheon meeting hosted by Federal Planning Minister and PTI leader Asad Umar in Karachi on Sunday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. The TV channel reported that Asad Umar and local PTI leadership kept waiting for the MQM-P leaders but they did not turn up rather declined to attend at the last moment.
