The Lahore High Court (LHC) will hear the petition against the police and Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) for raiding the house of former Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi on Chaudhry Zahoor Elahi Road in Lahore on May 2 (tomorrow), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar will hear the petition of Rasikh Elahi, a son of Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi.
The Punjab government, ACE director general and the SSP (operations) among others had been made respondents in the petition.
The plea contends that the raid on the house is illegal and a violation of fundamental rights, adding that the court had granted protective bail to Pervaiz Elahi till May 6 in the anti-corruption case.
“If any FIR is registered apart from this case, it should be produced before the court,” it states.
“Despite the protective bail, the house on Zahoor Elahi Road was raided and people in the house were harassed,” it adds.
The petition demands an action against the officers who raided the house and an order to stop the arrest of Pervaiz Elahi until the protective bail expires.
