Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has reiterated his party’s resolve to continue efforts for workers’ welfare, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.
Addressing a ceremony in Karachi on Labour Day, the former foreign minister said the PPP will raise the salary of workers in Sindh and Balochistan in the budget.
The elite businesses run because of workers, he said, adding that they should be rewarded for their hard work.
“The PPP made a historic increase in salaries and pensions."It ended the anti-labour policies of dictators,” Bilawal maintained.
He also assigned Raza Rabbani the responsibility of activating the labour bureau.
The PPP chairman said: “The public-private partnership projects in Sindh remained successful.
"The Pakistan International Airline (PIA) should be run under a public-private partnership instead of privatization.
"The finance minister is praising our private-public partnership.”
The land of the Pakistan Steel Mill belongs to the Sindh government, he said and urged the centre to solve the problem.
“The Sindh government is ready to buy the Steel Mills if the federal government cannot run it."
