Days after hitting the headlines for a frightening firing incident outside his residence in Bandra West, Bollywood King Salman Khan again stolen the spotlight but this time for an interesting yet a little bit impressive reason revolving around his extreme 'mad' involvement and overly possessive nature of relationship with former girlfriend and top Indian star Aishwarya Rai.
In the latest turn of events, famous veteran actress, Smita Jaykar, who played Aishwarya Rai's mother in the film, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, talked about Salman's affair. As reported by Filmi Beat, in an old video, Smita shared that Salman and Aishwarya's love blossomed on the sets of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, it showed during the film of the movie, which worked in their favour. She said:
"At that time their love story had just started, it blossomed there, so it was showing and it worked very well for the film."
Not only this, Smita also revealed that during the shooting of one of the songs of the movie, Salman straight away asked Sanjay not to touch his then-girlfriend, Aishwarya, as the director was just narrating the scene to the then-couple. She was quoted as saying: "I remembered one scene from the song Aankhon Ki Gustakhiya, where Salman had to go all the way round as Ash was standing next to me, so Sanjay goes and touches her (Ash) like this, he (Salman) goes and says Sanjay sir why did you touch her you are not supposed to do that, you know how you feel in new love, it was all that feeling. Their eyes used to tinkle, we used to watch them, we were observers."
Salman once, in a media interaction, clearly stated that he wasn't happy with the ending of his superhit film, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. The superstar shared that if he had made the film, then Nandini would have chosen the guy she loved and had left her husband. However, Sanjay Leela Bhansali wanted a depressive kind of ending for the film. He said: "I did not agree with the ending in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. Sanjay Bhansali told me that he wanted a depressive high. But frankly, I feel that love is above all traditions. But if you are making a traditional film, then (cuss word) love. Nandini (Aishwarya) should have left her husband and gone with the guy she loved (Salman). Her husband (Ajay Devgan) was like god to her for what he did. If I had made Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, I would have let her go with the guy she loved."
When Salman and Aishwarya parted ways: Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai shared a beautiful relationship until their relationship was strained. In 2001, Salman was allegedly spotted banging on the doors of Aishwarya's home and pleading with her to let him in. There was speculation that the actor wanted to propose to Aishwarya, but she wasn't prepared for it. In 2002, Salman and Aishwarya parted ways. While Salman shared that it was a typical fight that occurs in a relationship, Aishwarya made shocking allegations and claimed that the actor physically abused her.
