The report of the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) acknowledged an increase of 1.9 percent inflation during October as the government fails to control ballooning inflation, as the inflation rate in the last month (Oct) was 9.2 percent, reported 24NewsHD TV on Monday.
The rampant inflation continues in the country, food items are becoming more expensive for the common man. From July to October, the average inflation rate was 8.74 percent. Last month inflation rate was 1.7 percent in urban area and rural inflation jumped by 2.2 percent
In October, prices of chicken rose by 17.91 percent, potatoes by 12.17 percent, wheat by 7.25 per cent, ghee by 2.72 percent and cooking oil by 1.77 percent, Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) by 13.2 percent, fuel by 8.6 percent, stationary products by Rs 5.78 percent and electricity prices rose 5.48 percent. .
According to the PBS, ghee became more expensive by 43.03 per cent. Cooking oil price jumps by Rs 40.02 and price of chicken by 34.69 percent, wheat flour price by 12.97 per cent and price of fruits by 15.84 per cent in October 2021 as compared to October 2020.
