The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) personnel while conducting different operations across the country, thwarted a number of attempts to smuggle narcotics, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
According to details, during two different operations conducted at Islamabad International Airport, the ANF personnel recovered 80 heroin-filled capsules from the stomach of a passenger, resident of Sargodha, while 50 heroin-filled capsules were recovered from the stomach of another woman passenger who was a resident of Swat. Both passengers were going to Saudi Arabia by flight SV-727.
In another operation, 1 kg and156 grams of heroin was recovered, hidden tactfully in the trolley bag of a passenger, going to Bahrain by flight number PK-187. The accused was the resident of Chakwal.
In the same fashion, a passenger was detained by ANF personnel at Bacha Khan International Airport Peshawar and 139 capsules filled with heroin were recovered from his stomach. The passenger was the resident of Islamabad and was going to Bahrain from flight GF-785.
In another operation conducted near Ring Road Peshawar, the ANF personnel foiled the bid of smuggling hashish into Punjab and seized 37kg and 200 grams of hashish, hidden in the freezer, from an Afghan resident.
Separate cases have been registered against all the accused under the Anti-Narcotics Act and further investigations have been started.
