A goods train coming to Lahore from Karachi narrowly escaped a disaster when a fire suddenly broke out in a compartment of the cargo vehicle near Nawabshah on Wednesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

As a result of the fire, the goods lying in the bogie of the cargo car got burnt. The affected bogie was immediately separated from the freight train.

However, fire brigade vehicles were called from Sirhari and the fire fighters launched their operation to douse the blaze.

Trains have been stopped at various stations due to the fire in the train.
