Federal government collected Rs261.69 billion under the head of petroleum levy during third quarter of current fiscal year 2024-25 (from July 2024 to September 2024), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
Sources said that during the first quarter of current fiscal year Rs39.62 billion were collected as petroleum levy, while Rs222.7b were collected through petroleum development levy during third quarter of previous fiscal year 2023-24.
Rs1281 billion target was assigned for petroleum levy during current fiscal year of 2024-25, while during previous fiscal year of 2023-24 Rs100019 billion were recovered under the head of petroleum levy.
Sources said that Rs580 billion were received as petroleum levy during fiscal year of 2022-23.
Currently Rs60 per liter levy being from consumers on petroleum products and high-speed diesel (HSD).
