The Islamabad High Court (IHC) was informed on Friday that PTI lawyer Intezar Panjutha would be recovered within 24 hours, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

During the hearing of the petition, seeking the recovery of the missing lawyer, IHC Chief Justice (CJ) Justice Aamer Farooq told the Attorney-General of Pakistan (AGP) Mansoor Awan that in case, Panjutha was not recovered by tomorrow, he would have to appear in the court on the next hearing.

“Has the countdown begun now?” the CJ asked.

The AGP replied that Panjutha would be back by this time tomorrow.

Over a week ago, the IHC had summoned the Inspector General (IG) of Police Islamabad in his personal capacity in connection with the hearing of the petition, seeking the recovery of the PTI lawyer.

During the hearing, while expressing his frustration over the lack of progress in the case, Chief Justice Aamer Farooq demanded a detailed report from the Intelligence Bureau (IB) on the efforts made so far to trace Panjutha.

When asked about updates, lawyer Faisal Chaudhry informed the court that while footage and photographs had been received, there had been no a significant breakthrough in the case.

Justice Farooq emphasized that the onus of investigation lay with the authorities, not the complainants.

Addressing the IB officer, who was present on the occasion, the judge expressed dissatisfaction with the agency's handling of the case, urging prompt action.
