Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif Thursday met with the Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, in Doha for high-level talks aimed at deepening Pakistan-Qatar relations.
The leaders held a one-on-one discussion, followed by a meeting with their delegations, where they explored new avenues for cooperation in trade, investment, energy, and culture. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen strategic ties and emphasized shared economic goals and the importance of regional stability.
The talks also addressed critical international issues, with a focus on the Israel-Palestine conflict. Prime Minister Sharif expressed gratitude for Qatar’s stance on the Palestinian issue, as highlighted by Sheikh Tamim during the 79th UN General Assembly in September. He praised Qatar’s efforts to mediate a ceasefire and provide uninterrupted humanitarian aid to Gaza, underscoring the necessity of establishing peace for global prosperity and condemning recent Israeli actions as historically unprecedented.
Prime Minister Sharif extended an invitation to Sheikh Tamim to visit Pakistan, highlighting the visit as a milestone in the growing partnership between Pakistan and Qatar.
