The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders have lashed out at the government for ‘barring’ them from meeting with their imprisoned party founder Imran Khan.
Addressing the media outside Adiala Jail on Thursday, Omar Ayub said After waiting for three hours, the jail authorities asked him to give in writing that he would not hold political talks.
He added: “The government and agencies should also give in wring in Form 47 that they would not interfere in the political process. Two months passed and even after the court order, we were not allowed to meet the PTI founder. I have a very important meeting today. When I speak, the media owners silence us.”
Ali Muhammad Khan said: “Despite the court order, I was not allowed to meet the PTI founder again.
He stressed: “Our lawyers including Aj Ali Zafar were detained for three hours. By these actions, you can break the morale of the PTI founder and us.
“We will stand firm till our leader is freed with dignity. The former prime minister has been without electricity for six days.
“We are not convinced of anyone's dignity."
Ali condemned the attack on the former chief justice in London and distance the party from the attackers, saying “Some people misbehaved with the former chief justice abroad. we do not support such an action.”
However, he said the people are angry at the poor decision-making and how the government runs the state.
He added: “No one is investing in the country. Pakistan Steel Mills and the PIA have been ruined while The condition of Pakistan Railways is like a ‘dead horse’.
“The government is backing ghost workers while joblessness is on the rise. No pay raise has been implemented.
“If we come into power, our leader will take the country to the development path.
“Our leader stood firm while your leader fled abroad.”
“Shah Mehmood Qureshi has been in jail for two years. he has proved that he is a genuine leader.
“I will ask Maryam Nawaz that Yasmeen Rashid has served Lahore and Punjab more than her age.
“Yasmin Rashid has defeated Mian Nawaz Sharif two or three times, she is in jail.
“Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed is in jail, former governor Umar Cheema is a symbol of loyalty.”

“Let the leadership of Pakistan free and let them serve the country.
Zartaj Gul said, “We had travelled for seven hours but could not meet the party founder. This is a shameless. We waited for hours to meet the PTI founder.”
She added: We are political people, we will talk politically. A judicial commission should be formed and the cell of the PTI founder should be visited.
“I want to stage a protest here. My brave leader did not run after giving stamp paper like Nawaz Sharif.
Asad Qaiser said: “These people (the coalition government) call themselves champions of democracy. Why did they bar us from talking to the PTI founder?
“Illegal legislation is being enacted. This law will not last forever."
He continued: "We will raise our voices in the Assembly. Let us protest.
"We will go to the court. We will not retreat.
"We are not afraid. We will fight"
