Mickey Arthur, Pakistan cricket team's director, will meet the team in India this Sunday, October 1.

This is just before Pakistan starts their ICC World Cup 2023 matches. Pakistan’s first game is on October 6 against the Netherlands.

Mickey was in England before this. He was the main coach for Derbyshire, a renowned team of England County Cricket.

But he left England to be with the Pakistan team in India. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chose him for this job in April. His job is to plan and decide how the Pakistan men’s team will play.

When Mickey was the coach from 2016 to 2019, Pakistan did very well during his tenure.

They became the best team in Tests and T20Is. Also, with Mickey as their coach, they won a big trophy in 2017 - the ICC Champions Trophy.

Earlier, Pakistan played a practice match against New Zealand. They set a big score of 346 runs for New Zealand to chase.

However, New Zealand won by chasing the score and losing only five wickets. With Naseem Shah side-lined due to injury and star players Shaheen Afridi and Shadab Khan resting, our bowlers found it tough.

Pakistan will play another practice game against Australia on October 3. Then, their first World Cup match is against the Netherlands on October 6.

Pakistan’s team for this World Cup has Babar Azam as the captain. Other players are Abdullah Shafique, Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, Iftikhar Ahmed, Mohammad Rizwan, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, Usama Mir, Haris Rauf, M Wasim Jnr, Hasan Ali, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Saud Shakeel, and Salman Ali Agha.

For the ICC World Cup 2023, Pakistan is scheduled to play against the Netherlands, Sri Lanka, India, Australia, Afghanistan, South Africa, Bangladesh, New Zealand, and England.
