PTI's Marwat faces legal action after talk show brawl with PML-N senator

A case has been registered against Sher Afzal Marwat, a lawyer representing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), following a physical altercation with PML-N Senator Afnan Ullah Khan during a live television debate, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.

The incident unfolded during a televised debate, where the PTI lawyer and PML-N Senator engaged in a heated argument that escalated into the use of abusive language.

Matters took a violent turn when Marwat physically attacked Senator Afnan Ullah Khan.

 The FIR was lodged at the Aabpara Police Station, invoking Section 352 and Section 506 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Senator Afnan Ullah Khan initiated legal action by sending a formal letter to Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Operation Islamabad, Malik Jamil Zaffar, requesting the registration of the FIR against Marwat.

In his letter, Senator Khan alleged that Marwat had "physically assaulted him, slapped him three times, and beat him while he was nearly unconscious on the floor."

This incident has garnered significant attention in the political arena, highlighting the intensifying tensions between different political factions in Pakistan.
