Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly, Malik Ahmed Khan Bhachar, Monday held a press conference at the Lahore Press Club, where he strongly criticized the Punjab government for its handling of PTI activities and rallies, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Flanked by PTI’s members of the provincial assembly, Bhachar expressed concern over what he described as increasing government suppression of his party.

“The promise of issuing NOCs for meetings has been broken. Everyone witnessed the fascism at Liaquat Bagh, where innocent people were subjected to police action,” Bhachar said.

He also highlighted the arrest of 22 PTI workers in Mianwali, who were subsequently jailed, and accused the government of creating an atmosphere where the rule of law is disregarded.

Bhachar emphasized that PTI, as the largest political party in the country, is being unfairly targeted and vowed that no political party can be stopped from peacefully protesting.

He announced plans for a major protest demonstration on October 5 at Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore, and additional protests on October 2 in Multan, Faisalabad, and Mianwali.

“The government is trying to push PTI against the wall, but we will continue our peaceful demonstrations. If the authorities try to stop us, their situation will be worse than what happened in Rawalpindi,” Bhachar warned.

He also criticized the Punjab police for filing false FIRs against PTI workers and stated that the government ministers are fueling inter-provincial tensions.
