Imran Khan to inaugurate several projects in Karachi on Friday

Federal Information Minister Shibli Faraz Tuesday said Prime Minister Imran Khan will inaugurate several projects in Karachi on Friday in a bid to resolve the problems of the city.
Addressing a press conference after the cabinet meeting, he said the prime minister wants to get rid of Karachi’s problems.
The Information Minister said the projects will be launched with the help of Sindh government and National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
“People of Karachi are going through a difficult time,” he further said.
He accused the Sindh government for not taking the issues of Karachi seriously.
“We need Sindh government’s help to resolve the issues of the province,” he said.
He announced the government is going to start the phase-2 of the Ehsaas Programme and the Prime Minister has directed the Sania Nishter in this matter.
The cabinet has also discussed the situation in Balochistan and interior Sindh, he further said.
Nawaz Sharif case update
In a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan, the Prime Minister was briefed on the proceedings of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) regarding Nawaz Sharif, 24NewsHD TV reported quoting its sources.
Sources maintained that PM Advisor on Accountability Mirza Shahzad Akbar went to Prime Minister Imran Khan’s chair and apprised him about today's hearing of Nawaz Sharif’s case in IHC.
Sources also maintained that the Prime Minister also avoided talking on Nawaz Sharif case during the cabinet meeting.
Bureaucracy reforms
Sources claimed the government's top adviser on civil service reforms Dr Ishrat Hussain faced criticism and tough questions over slow pace for bringing institutional reforms. Among the critics were Human Rights Minister Dr Shireen Mazari, Federal Science and Technology Minister Fawad Chaudhry.
The Human Rights Minister said despite passage of two years, the departmental reform while Fawad Ch said he has been listening about introduction of Executive Working Group in Bureaucracy for reforms since 2006.
Disco’s performance
The TV channel reported that Planning Minister Asad Umar questioned Omer Ayub about the Power Division and why the boards of power distribution companies have not been completed.
Omer Ayub replied that don't expect performance from discos without establishment of boards while he asked for time to present the report on discus boards in the cabinet.
Shahbaz Sharif to visit Karachi on Wednesday
Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Nawaz President Shahbaz Sharif will go to Karachi on a one-day trip, the TV channel reported.
