Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has postponed his scheduled visit to the UAE and said that the brotherly country has started delivering the first tranche of relief goods worth $50 million for the flood victims in Pakistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
PM Shehbaz Sharif and HH President Mohamed Bin Zayed spoke on telephone Wednesday night.
“In my telephonic conversation with my brother HH President Mohamed Bin Zayed last night, he assured (me) the UAE will continue to help flood affectees,” wrote Prime Minister Shehbaz in a tweet uploaded on Thursday.
The prime minister was set to visit the UAE on September 3 on the invitation of the UAE President but during the telephonic conversation both mutually decided to postpone the visit so that former could focus on the ongoing rescue and relief activities.
“We will forever be indebted to our brothers and sisters who have stood by us in this challenge,” said the prime minister in the tweet.
