Police in Karachi rearrested PTI Sindh President and former leader of the opposition in the Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh immediately after his release was ordered by an anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

As soon as the ATC rejected the police’s request for Sheikh’s remand, Preedy police were waiting outside the court to take him into custody again.

A case had been registered against the PTI leader for interfering in official duty.

Sheikh, who was arrested by the police outside the Sindh High Court (SHC), where he had gone to secure bail, on Wednesday, faces the allegation of participating in violent protests that erupted following the arrest of PTI Chairman Imran Khan on May 9.

Speaking to reporters just before his arrest, senior PTI leader denied the charges against him, stating that they were all fabricated.

Sheikh opined that he and his colleagues were being targeted out of political vengeance.
