A soldier embraced martyrdom in a firefight between troops and terrorists in the Khyber district in KP, ISPR said on Friday.

The martyr is identified as Havildar Muntazir Shah, a 36-year-old resident of Sawabi district.

The firefight occurred in the night between August 31 and September 1, in the Tirah area of Khyber district, the military media wing said, adding that the troops killed a terrorist involved in numerous terrorist activities against security forces and civilians.

The ISPR said the hunt for terrorists is underway and the security forces have been standing firm against anti-state elements.
