Today marks the third martyrdom anniversary of veteran Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Gilani, a prominent figure in the Kashmir resistance movement. Syed Ali Gilani, who passed away on September 1, 2021, while under house arrest at his residence in Hyderpora, remains a symbol of the Kashmiri struggle for self-determination.
The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has urged the Kashmiri diaspora to organize peaceful demonstrations globally to draw attention to the ongoing Indian brutalities in the disputed region.
In a message from New Delhi’s Tihar Jail, incarcerated APHC Chairman Masarat Aalam Butt emphasized that India will not succeed in eradicating the Kashmiri people’s yearning for freedom.
Posters commemorating Syed Ali Gilani and calling for the remembrance of Kashmiri martyrs have surfaced across various areas of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). The messages reinforce the enduring commitment to the cause for which Gilani dedicated his life.
In Azad Jammu and Kashmir, public gatherings, seminars, and rallies organized by the Kashmir Liberation Commission, Pasban e Hurriyat, and other Hurriyat organizations and educational institutions will pay tribute to Syed Ali Gilani’s famous slogan, "Hum Pakistani Hain, Pakistan Hamara Hai" (We are Pakistanis, Pakistan is Ours).
