Actor Shamoon Abbasi, who is currently stranded in Thailand along with his crew members due to suspension of flights triggered by the coronavirus pandemic, has called upon the government to help him and his other colleagues.

He took to social media and said he is hoping for a positive news. “The problem is that all flights have been cancelled. The Pakistan International Airlines will bring people back from other countries but there has been no mention of a rescue flight to Thailand,” he wrote.

Abbasi said in his Twitter message on Thursday that many Pakistanis are stranded in Thailand.

Shamoon Abbasi is among the cast of television actor Muhib Mirza’s directorial debut Ishrat Made in China. The shoot had kicked off in Thailand before the pandemic took a serious turn around the world. Half of the cast returned to Pakistan after completing their 15-day shooting while the remaining half is stuck in Thailand with no flights scheduled yet to bring them back.

Shamoon Abbasi says the cast and crew were waiting for Pakistan to open its air space on April 4, but found later that Thailand was not on the list of countries PIA was going to resume flights to.
