JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has offered to give his seminaries and volunteers to the government to stem the coronavirus.
In a video message, Fazl said on human grounds the government is offered with all-out support in the ongoing war on the virus.
“Our seminaries and volunteers are ready to help the government whenever and wherever it needs,” Fazl said.
However, he complained about the attitude of the ruling coalition towards such offers, saying that the ruling coalition is using the state organs against the religious parties, especially preachers, in the wake of coronavirus outbreak.
He said mosques are being closed so that no prayers could be offered and Friday congregations could be stopped while clerics are being arrested.
Also, Fazl phoned Leader of Opposition in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif and suggested the formation of a parliamentary committee to monitor measures to fight off coronavirus. He said the opposition would not participate in any committee until the formation of a monitoring body.
