Police have arrested two men who had killed a 38-year-old woman in Johar Town, Lahore before dumping her body into a canal in Changa Manga in district Kasur, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
DIG Investigation Syed Zeeshan Raza, who had taken notice of the incident, formed a police team, headed by SP Investigation Saddar, to arrest the assassins.
Those who have been arrested are the woman’s paramour Muhammad Waqas and his friend Khawar.
In-charge Investigation at Johar Town Police Station Moazzam Ilyas Cheema has told media that the deceased woman’s son had got an FIR registered. “Waqas strangulated Nasira to death by placing a pillow on her face after an altercation,” he said, adding, “Then Waqas and Khawar stuffed her body into a bag and took it to Changa Manga where they threw it into a canal.”
On the other hand, the DIG Investigation has said that the police succeeded in getting to the murderers with the help of the latest technology. “We will collaborate with the prosecution to ensure that those arrested are brought to justice. Those involved in the sexual exploitation and murder of women do not deserve any leniency,” he added.
Pleased at the police’s performance, SSP Investigation Muhammad Naveed has announced cash and certificates for the cops.
