Pakistan Muslims League Nawaz MNA Iftikharul Hasan Shah aka Pir Zahiray Shah from NA-75 (Sialkot-IV) passed away, 24NewsHD TV channel reported. He was on a ventilator after heart surgery and passed away on Sunday.
Syed Iftikhar ul Hassan was elected MNA for the third time from NA-113 in general elections 2013. Previously, he was elected MNA in general elections held in 1993 and 1997 respectively. He has also served as a member of the Punjab Assembly from Daska during 1985-88, 1988-90 and 1990-93. He was holding the membership of Standing Committees on Interior and Narcotics Control and National Food Security and Research.
PML-N President and Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif expressed his deep sorrow over the demise of party leader Syed Ifthikhar Ul Hassan Shah.
Syed Iftikhar Ul Hassan scored 101,617 votes defeating PTI Ali Asjad Malhi who bagged 61,432 and an independent candidate Usman Abid who bagged 57,571.
Iftikhar Ul Hasan Shah was born in Sialkot, Punjab. He was son of Faiz-ul Hassan Shah, an Islamic orator. Zahray Shah belongs to the Syed family of Allo Mahar Shrif in Sialkot.
He was the descendant of the Islamic saint Muhammad Channan Shah Nuri Muhammad Channan Shah Nuri (preacher who founded the Aminia branch of the Sunni Naqshbandi order).
