A city court has stopped the police from registering cases against the violators of Covid-related SOPs in Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Reportedly, judicial magistrate Javed Korijo on Monday restricted the police in Karachi East and Korangi from registering First Investigation Reports (FIRs) against the violators of Section 144. The court issued a written order in this regard.

The court showed its annoyance over the registration of cases against the accused of violating Section 144.

Justice Korijo remarked that the court time and again was directing the police to not register cases for violating of Section 144. But police were not paying heed to the court order. He said that in case of Section 144 violation, the police should register a complaint instead of an FIR

The judge warned the police if they did not desist from registering FIRs on Sec 144 violation, then the court would take action against the police

The court also ordered for the release of accused arrested for violating the Covid curbs and directed the police to register written complaint against the accused instead of making cases against them.
