Following the unanimous decision of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) got prohibited foreign funding, PTI founder member Akbar S Babar said Tuesday while talking to media that he was grateful to Allah Almighty who gave him victory after eight years of struggle, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
“It was a great battle that we have won. We battled against the mountain. It was a contest between the right and the wrong. We were victorious,” he pointed out.
“I had no personal interest in it. It was a matter of national interest. I used to say that I will take justice from the Pakistani institutions,” he stated.
“The ECP confirmed all my allegations. It confirmed that the PTI kept the accounts secret. It confirmed that the PTI made false statements. It confirmed that Imran Khan submitted false certificates,” he added.
“This is a great decision that has closed the door to fascism. Constitutional institutions will not be shaken; they will rather confirm the truth. Today’s decision has buried the ‘law of necessity’,” he expressed optimism.
“The decision has opened the eyes of the PTI workers. Imran Khan should resign from the party chairmanship. Now there is no reason why Imran Khan should not resign,” he demanded.
