Govt decides to put name of Imran Khan on ECL

The coalition federal government of the 13 parties’ alliance, the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) has decided to put the name of Pakistan Tehreek-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on the Exit Control List (ECL).

According to the inside story of the PDM meeting revealed by the 24News HD TV channel, the allied government has principally decided to put the names of all persons related to the prohibited funding case on the no-fly list.

The PDM meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad on Tuesday.

The channel report said the meeting has decided that the approval for putting names of all persons on ECL will be taken from the Federal Cabinet.

The channel report further disclosed that a special political committee has been formed to formulate its recommendations on the decision of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on the prohibited funding case.

As per the report, the special political committee will be comprised of Syed Khurshid Shah as Convener while Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Khawaja Asif and others as members.

The meeting of the coalition government and PDM parties convened at the Prime Minister's House. 

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, PDM Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Maryam Nawaz and other leaders attended the meeting.

Leaders of MQM, Pakistan Muslim League (Q), ANP, BNP, BAP and other allied parties also participated in the meeting.

In the meeting, deep grief and sorrow were expressed over the martyrdom of six officers of the Army Aviation helicopter, including Quetta Corps Commander Lt. Gen. Sarfraz Ali.

In the meeting, Fatiha was recited for the martyrs.

They reckoned that by helping the flood victims, the sons of the nation have attained the great status of martyrdom for which the entire nation pays tribute to them.

According to the sources, Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar gave a briefing on the legal points after which it was decided to form legal and political committees to take hard decisions and strict action against PTI.

The sources said another meeting of the ruling coalition will be held again on Wednesday, March 03, 2022, at the Prime Minister's House.

Sources said that a briefing is likely to be taken from the Ministry of Interior on the decision of the Election Commission.
