Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari has said that the restrictions on X platform, formerly known as Twitter, will be lifted after introduction of new laws riding the social media activities in the country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Talking to media men outside Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday, Azma Bukhari said the government will not allow “digital terrorism”. “No one would be permitted to malign anyone on social media. The so-called revolutionaries sitting outside the country would not be able to upload a post against Pakistan,” she added.

The minister maintained that no one can run Pakistan like they were running it. “The ban on Twitter will be lifted after framing of the new laws,” she added.

Azma Bukhari was at the LHC to attend hearing of a petition she filed against an alleged video.

Azma Bukhari filed a petition against her alleged video while making the federal government, FIA, and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) social media activist Falak Javed Khan the respondents.

The petitioner requested the court to take legal action against Falak Javed and others for sharing a deepfake video on X, which she said, was shared by hundreds of people.
