Adnan Siddiqui has taken a swipe at an Indian teacher for branding a Muslim student as a terrorist in India.
Adnan Siddiqui took to social media; saying: “Teachers are expected to be unbiased, they shoulder the huge responsibility as makers of the nation and making classrooms safe heaven for the student."
"This professor fails on all accounts with his deep-seated hatred against Muslims. Shameful! he added.
A video shared by Ashok Swain, professor of peace and conflict research at the Department of Peace and Conflict Research, Uppsala University, Sweden, showed anti-Muslim bigotry in the so-called largest democracy of the world.
In the clip, a teacher invited a Muslim student’s ire as the former called the latter a terrorist. The footage showed the teacher saying ‘sorry’ but it was too late as the anti-Muslim bigotry did the damage.
India is known as the epicentre of global Islamophobia. This is not just because of the frequency of Islamophobic attacks or the depth of depravity.
Human Rights Watch (HRW) reports that the gravity of Islamophobia in India is twofold because of unabashed institutional support for Islamophobia in the highest political offices and no option for Indian minorities to approach the judiciary, police or any other authorities for meaningful protection.
Anti-Muslim bigotry is not new in the so-called largest democracy of the world but made Muslims of the subcontinent create a separate state – Pakistan – in 1947. The patrician has a lot of precedents subjecting the Muslims, including children and women, to Indian vendetta, vengeance and violence.
Pakistan has been raising the issue at all the global platforms and Islamabad’s efforts bore fruit earlier in march of the ongoing year. On March 5, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution by consensus declaring March 15 an International Day to Combat Islamophobia.
Pakistan brought the resolution on behalf of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation. Delhi has been objecting to the creation of an UN-recognized day to combat Islamophobia.
