The government decided Friday to close the shops of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) at sensitive places, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
As per the official sources, the Civil Defence issued notices to LPG Association and all the LPG vendors.
It also directed the LPG vendors to get the training of firefighting.
They were warned of a stern action if they do not follow the instructions.
According to the Civil Defence notice, all the hotels, restaurants and shops near Tandoors will be closed in densely populated areas.
Action will also be taken against the management of mosques, schools, churches, marriage halls, hospitals, welding shops, basements, wooden or iron sheds and roadside shops if the orders are not obeyed.
“Action should be taken against those who do not implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs),” LPG Association Chairman Irfan Khokhar said.
“Action should also be taken against the manufactures and sellers of substandard gas cylinders,” he added.
“We are organising firefighting training for the LPG vendors with the help of Civil Defense,” he stated.
