Teaching faculty and staff of the University of Jhang have been performing their duties without salaries for the last three months, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
This was disclosed by Prof Anam Salim and Samina Supra, along with their colleagues while addressing a press conference here on Friday.
They disclosed the challenges they have been facing due to the financial constraints and the lack of attention from the Punjab government.
Prof Anam Salim that not only are they deprived of their salaries, but non-teaching and technical staff at the university are also grappling with financial hardships.
The University of Jhang, hosting around five thousand students, currently lacks a permanent Vice-Chancellor, adding to the administrative woes, she hinted.
Highlighting the bureaucratic hurdles, Prof Anam mentioned that their communications to the concerned officers had gone unanswered, and their appeals for financial relief and resolution of other concerns have been overlooked.
The professors called on the Chief Minister of Punjab and the Governor of Punjab to intervene and address the pressing issues faced by the university staff, emphasizing the urgency for immediate action.
