Federal Minister of Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal said on Monday that former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan was not a political prisoner, but was a convict in several cases, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Speaking to the media in Narowal, he said that no government in the world, including that of the USA and the UK, forgave those who attacked the country’s army and other institutions related to its security, and vowed that anybody throwing a spanner in the country’s progress would be dealt with an iron hand.
He asked the PTI to quit the politics of confrontation and sit in the parliament.
The minister said that although what the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government was doing was against the constitution, still he had no idea whether the governor’s rule would be imposed in the province. “On one hand, people are being butchered in KP, while on the other, PTI alleges that 200 of its workers were gunned down in Islamabad.”
The party, he went on to say, was busy making fake photos and videos with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) to prove that its workers were shot dead by the law-enforcement agencies, and was thus bringing a bad name to the country.
Ahsan alleged that whenever the country started developing, the PTI started the politics of agitation to fulfill the foreign agenda. “When the PTI protestors had reached the federal capital, the stock market came crashing down by 4,000 points. And their protest was over, an increase by over 4,000 points was witnessed.”
The minister was of the view that the people of Pakistan were now fed up with frequent calls for protests and demonstrations. “What the party’s supporters are doing abroad by approaching the UN and other forums in the USA and the UK is something that even the country’s enemies cannot do,” he said.
He was of the view that nobody from Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir had participated in the PTI’s protest since the people were disillusioned by the party’s policies.
