Despite a marked reduction in smog in the last one week, the air quality of Lahore, the city of gardens, still remains toxic as with the AQI standing at 304, it was ranked as the most polluted city in the world on Monday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Indian capital New Delhi, where the AQI was recorded at 250, was at the second position.

The AQI over the US consulate in Lahore was recorded at 433 followed by the CERP office where it stood at 416.

Similarly, it was 344 over Johar Town and 245 over Phase 8-DHA.  

The weather in the Punjab capital is cold. 

The weather department predicted that the maximum temperature in the city would go up to 24 degrees Celsius in the afternoon, while it would remain 13 degrees Celsius on the minimum side.

Despite the fact that it forecast partly cloudy weather for the city during the next 24 hours, still it said there were no chances of rain.

Multan, with the AQI recorded at 249, was the second most polluted city in the country, while the AQI in Karachi stood at 193.
